There’s an interesting story behind this post…
Literally about 2 or 3 hours ago I created a post here that was promoting another “money game” type deal. You know one of those 2×2 deals where you get 2 who get 2 and you make “X” dollars and then you’re re-entered into another matrix to make it happen again?
I blasted my entire list, was all excited to see the $777 payments start rolling in, went and played with my kids and suddenly it hit me…
This is not the way to build a REPUTABLE, CREDIBLE, LONG LASTING business online.
This is NOT what being a leader is all about.
Sure, I’d probably make a KILLING with this “deal”…but what about YOU?
What about your friends? What about your downline and those that trust YOU and join YOU? (If they even will)?
Most likely…you would have joined because of the hype and the promise of life changing income presented on the company page…you would have brought in maybe 1 or 2 people and then…WHAM just like that…the dream is gone because either the next best thing comes out, you can’t sponsor anymore new people, your team isn’t duplicating OR the company goes out of business! Sound familiar?
Well here’s the bottom line my respected friends…
I AM DONE WITH THAT CRAP IN 2010!!!!!!!!!!
I am done with these “Here today, Gone Tomorrow” deals! I’m just not doing it anymore. I can’t.
I just got done having a VERY uncomfortable conversation with one of my downline members in another “deal” I was promoting for the last few months.
You see, I just sponsored 100+ people PERSONALLY into another “deal” that I really thought was going to be GREAT!
Well it was great for ME, but I’m not interested in things being great for ME (and quite honestly…it wasn’t even THAT great for ME considering all the time and effort I put into it!).
THIS is a PERFECT example of WHY I am creating The Get 2 System! (http://www.Get2System.com)
In 2010 I am focussed on providing REAL, LONG LASTING VALUE to YOU and all my subscribers and team members!
NO MORE MONEY GAMES!
They don’t last.
They don’t provide REAL, LOST LASTING value.
They are NOT duplicable.
They are NOT credible.
Sometimes they are not even LEGAL!
They do not promote TEAM effort and building relationships.
They do NOT make you feel like you’re “part of something” worth while.
Quite frankly…I’m just DONE WITH THEM!
Let me define a “money game” for you…
ANYTHING that is not backed by a reputable, valuable, on going product or service and is only about moving money and sponsoring.
Here’s the truth… It’s so stinking easy and affordable now a days for anyone with a grand or two (sometimes less) and a good idea for moving money, to create an “online bizz opp”!!! That’s why there’s 100 popping up every minute! While I respect and admire the desire and fortitude of these program creators, they’re just not the way to TRUE LONG LASTING residual income!!! I haven’t seen one yet make it more than a year.
So with that said…
In 2010 and beyond, I’m focused on things that LAST, things that MATTER, things that provide REAL VALUE and things that are 1000% DUPLICABLE!
This is what my Get 2 System is ALL ABOUT! It’s NOT another “deal” or anything like that! It’s a TRUE TEAM building system that is 1000% focussed on DUPLICATION no matter what you are currently focussed on!
Now, here’s what I’ll tell you. If you are part of one of these “money games” take a good hard look at what you’re doing and ask yourself “is what I’m doing and promoting going to be able to not only pay me and my team members for years to come but provide enough VALUE with the PRODUCT or service that EVEN if I or my team members didn’t make money selling it, I and they would still stick to it because of the VALUE of the on going product or service?
That’s the key here my friends and I will from now on make sure I can answer YES to those questions before promoting or putting my name on or behind anything else NOW and into the future and would highly encourage you to do the same and follow my lead!
I’m very interested in your thoughts and feedback regarding this post, so please feel free to share your comments.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to bringing you so much value in 2010!

Jeff, I think that your page capture tool is one of the most fantastic program/tool I have ever had. I am not, however, all the interested in Network Marketing. On the other hand, it is respect the drives me to write you about this program, because I am curious.
Sincerely

Hi Jeff and Happy new year to you also.
Anyway I just wanted to thank you for your honesty and look forward to receiving your updates in 2010 - maybe the Get2 program will be up my ally also.
Kind regards

Jeff?
I’m so happy to see you getting the big picture. I have been in work where I feel that others come first, when I see others benifit, that is the real reward (there is more happiness in giving then in receiving) of course we all have to pay our bills and live so we look for ways to do that as we help and give to others.
Sincerly,
Debra

Man Jeff, you just hit the nail…
I’ve joined many of those “get 2 and help them get their 2″ type programs, and my sponsor left me hi and dry…
I too visualized what my life would become in 6 months from joining these types of opportunities… I’ve made a bit of cash, but as the months kept coming and going, the money started to disappear… Then what happened, another program came out…
A couple of days ago I was going through my “make happen in 2010″ list, and one of them was to REALLY find an activity that I can provide value to my group, and something that we can all grow (and for REAL this time)..
Then boom, I get the email that lead me to this page… Geez, is it really true that my desire to find something like this, and your desire to teach people about marketing and these types of programs led me here?
I believe it did… And I’m ready to jump down the rabbit hole with you Jeff…
Happy 2010, and this may be the last program I’ll be getting involved with for a while… (Something inside of me struck a cord with what I read with your post)… So ima jump all over it…
Cheers!

Hi Jeff,
I too appreciate the honesty and am also looking forward to 2010.
Should be a great year for a lot of marketers as long as they are smart with the decisions that they face. Look forward to your updates and continuing success!

Hi Jeff,
Happy New Year.
I’m really pleased about your change of intent you expressed in this blog. When I got your info about the program discussed I felt the same way and did not follow through and join. So welcome to those of us who feel the same way.
2. January 2010 at 10:20 pm
I have invested in $70,000.00 stupid sites, from all the flash and let’s be friends and join up together, crap!!!!!!!
For all that read this be glad that at least one person is going to be “Real” . I will be looking for more information from you this year.
Best regards

Hi Jeff,
Happy New Year!
Thank you for this post!
I agree with you 100%…..and I’m very
happy to see others who are starting to
see the light. These money games have
given the industry of network marketing
a “bad” name. So many have lost money
now they are gun-shy so to speak about
joining a legitimate home based business.
I am so sick of those who promote one money
game after another…Like you, I am also one
who has fallen for it over and over again.
I now am proud of the fact I have a primary
business…one I can be proud of and tell
other’s about with pride. I am passionate
about the business, the main product is
helping me, admin is one of the best I’ve
known…
Thanks again for your honesty and integrity…
and most of all your willingness to share
your feelings and to admit you, along with
many of us….”fell for it again” I admit
I’ve also been there, done that!
Looking forward to a great 2010!

Jeff, thank you for your comments. I have been trying to start an
online business for a long time. I have spent a lot of money, and
it seems I have only a hard drive full of mostly worthless e-books,
pdfs, and software I do not understand how to work.
I don’t mind working hard, long hours, whatever it takes. But, there is
always a part of something missing. Sometimes, I think all the emails
I get are just a bunch of you know what when they say they signed up
hundreds of people. I can’t seem to get any.
I hope to connect with you and others so maybe we can help each other.
Happy New Year and to everyone a prosperous 2010.
2. January 2010 at 10:25 pm
Jeff,
I totally agree. My story over the past 2 years would be a best seller book. I found an opportunity that was exactly what I was looking for as it allowed anyone I introduced to it would also earn money.
I reached a 7 figure monthly income when it was shut down. (long story)
After 6 months I saw a similar program with the problems corrected and within 5 months I doubled the volume from the first company.
I also helped my friends and family all earn money which was and is my passion. Then…someone within the company flew the coop with all the money and overnight I am starting over for the 3rd time in 2 years.
I will duplicate again in 2010, but this time like you…it must be a system and program where no one gets hurt and no one gets left behind.
I look forward to seeing what you have on the back burner for 2010 buddy.

Hi Jeff,
It’s nice to finally hear that you’re going to step away from the same old here today and gone tomorrow programs.
I’ll be watching your new ventures now and into the future.
Much respect,

It’s nice to hear that there are a few people out there who are looking for an old-fashioned sense of honor…I still am working on my website because I started from scratch…Yup, I’m learning it all.
I will never be a “Guru” because, frankly, it takes too much out of me…I’ve been there, done that offline, and I hated it.
Oddly, there really is no substitute for study, discipline, planning, work, and growth.

Hi Jeff,
I have Joined everything on the Internet that said Make Money. I have been trying for over 3 years and have never made a dime online. I have about 4 Programs that I am working on now and I am confident that I am going to succeed with them.
Keep up the good work and Happy New Year.

2. January 2010 at 10:32 pm
Hi Jeff
I was here couple hours ago for the new opportunity, And quite frankly I was thinking I can not join anything else. I need to focus on the businesses I like the most like My MAIL BUSINESS-DREAM STYLE VACATIONS,THE GET2 PROGRAM. I was promoting to my list what you promoted to me except for the one today. I am stretched to far. Any extra money I can come up with I put back into my businesses (the ones you promoted to me)
I really feel that the businesses you created or sponsored above will work great for me. I don’t have a list like you, that is for sure maybe only 2,500 And I only recommend what you recommend to me because you are the only person on the net that actually called me when one of my sites were messed up on Instant Capture Page. Sounds like a small thing but that made a huge impression on me.I have been working on line 5 years now, last two full time.Trust me I have been burnt many many times. Sorry for the babbling. But again I was super happy to see this post Jeff.
I was extremely happy to see this new post. That you are going to focus on real obtainable businesses and goals. Because I just wound up with a lot of streams BUT NO INCOME
Thanks

Hello Jeff,
I am glad to receive this new post from you. I was tempted to contact you about that last one because I felt that you were indeed blowing your credibility online. You can’t be all over the place just because you have a big list.
I look forward to seeing what you have to offer with your new program. I deleted the last post and was about to unsubscribe. I’m glad I didn’t do that. I wish you a really great 2010.
2. January 2010 at 10:35 pm
I agree, I stopped doing them when I realized others could not duplicate the same response. It is NOT the way to build a long lasting relationship, one in which everyone wins.

Jeff,
This is huge what you just did. This is like Jerry Mcquire writing his Mission statement. This is what I just did about 3-4 months ago when I ran into a group of people that have made me slow it down, be the leader I knew I was. Jeff with the post you just did you are now “10 foot tall and bullet proof. ”
Much love from Texas.
Hello world, watch out for the new Jeff Long.
Now, Jeff, this is a mission possible. We go save the others next. I am slowly doing it one by one.

Hello Jeff,
Thank you for the post! I have an email I was writing to
my friends and subscribers just like it.
“Hello friends,
I bought it, hook, line and sinker in 2009! I really was
wrong on this one……
I have been guilty of repeating the same behavior, thinking
this was best for all at the time.”
I agree with you so totally Jeff! I really thought anyone
could duplicate the results if they just tried a bit harder,
but It just doesn’t work out like that, so I can not keep
promoting everything that looks good to me at others
expense.
Respectfully,
Ed Mallory

HI, Jeff! I’m glad to see that someone else has come to the same conclusion that I came to a few months back.
The idea of the money being in the list is really offensive if you think about it. It makes the people on the list a “commodity” and people should not be viewed that way!
I wish you all the best with your new project. I fortunately have found one that is working and I’m sticking with it for the time being anyway.
Please feel free to send me your emails about real opportunities with real products run by real people. That’s the only kind I am interested in now!

Good deal, I myself have passed on a few cyclers lately that I knew I would make money on but most likely my list would struggle with. Better to stick with the long term programs, problem is trying to convince people to pass on the pie in the sky programs and put in just a little work with the good stuff.
Have a bountiful New Year,

Happy New Year, Jeff. I have got dozens of offers for a home based business on my e-mail. I am confused about which one to trust, and because I am out of work, I do not have any money to invest in any of them. Most require from $50 to $200 to join. I don’t have it. I am praying for a way to make a living in 2010. I will look into your Get 2 program. Good luck to both of us. God Bless you.
With love,

Jeff - I couldn’t agree more. everything that has happened over the last decade has proven that we all need to focus on long term real value and wealth. Enough with the get rich quick here today gone tomorrow crap programs. Interested to hear about the Get 2 program. Jeff C
2. January 2010 at 10:58 pm
Dave and everyone…NO I literally promoted this for about 2 hours then CAME TO MY SENSES!
So no money was even made from this deal at all. I didn’t give it a chance to hurt anyone, thank goodness! Get2 is not a “program” or anything like it…you’ll just have to see.
Thanks everyone for all your supportive comments…I’m so happy this message has struck a chord.
2. January 2010 at 11:03 pm
Hey Jeff!
I never cared for 2×2 recyclers.
I seen the flaws of the 2×2 recycling matrix. If ever a payment structure was designed to benefit the top marketers and heavy hitters, it would definitely be the 2×2. As far as the average guy? Forget about it! :0)
I’m looking forward to checking out get2system.com!
Thanks!
2. January 2010 at 11:06 pm
Jeff,
I have to say…BRAVO Dude!! I am a small fish out there and I started promoting your Get2System and questioning it to myself. I have abouy 18 personals and total.. 140 members on my team so far & I must say that I am Very Honored to be promoting a site thats from a Admin that ACTUALY Cares about his Downline and that seems to be a good “Good Example!”
Thank You for being Honest & Real Dude!
Its a refreshing Change to see one of the BIG Names out there being Honest with us little guys who actualy are the ones who DO help make all the BIG Fish’s in these opportunitys a TON of Cash!
SO as brief as possable…….Thanks & For Your HONESTY Its a Refreshing Change!!

Jeff I`m impressed It takes a man to stand up and say what you
said. I tired of the money game not to long ago as well. You might
be surprised How everything turns in your favor when you start saying
“What can I do for You” I Hope everything works out for you!!
2010 just barely got here when I turned 1 million without selling
a single Product or contacting a single person on my list. So if your
serious contact me! It took 18 days.
2. January 2010 at 11:20 pm
Thanks Jeff I look forward to GET2. I enjoyed the traffic fomula videos and the nuggets of info alone increased my outreach of my targeted audiance immensely overnight.
2. January 2010 at 11:25 pm
Jeff, It take a tall man to own up to the truth in today society, the dog eat dog business tactics of the modern world support only the individual. In the days of old business it was done face to face, confirmed with a hand shake over a good steak and a beverage of your choice. Not lawyers, massive contracts; in the internet business “term of etc…”.
It is very refreshing to find a bit of old world beliefs coming alive again. Hopefully the new trend will catch on with others and perhaps up and coming newbies will learn honest methods of business.
Like many others I have jumped at every “This is the One”; “Its all in the List”; “You only need one more Service” until the wallet ran dry and then some. Then when it came to some free opportunities they were not as free as they sounded to be; I have no problem with one making a living but when it comes to racking the little ones over the coals two and three times it gets to be ridiculous.
Your new opportunity sounds interesting, I will give it a try. Thanks for being honest, That means more to me than just about any other virtue there is. God Bless.
2. January 2010 at 11:33 pm
Jeff,
I see a lot of the money game mindset. People are getting scammed by people that just see people as hundred dollar bills.
Most people cannot even sell this stuff, but go in because their mindset is the same as the people selling the game.
After all, we do attract what we think about. Just had to throw that in because it’s the TRUTH.
Have a GREAT 2010,
Matt Mortenson

2. January 2010 at 11:35 pm
Fantastic post, Jeff!
Let’s expand upon this great commentary here. What are the qualities that we feel would make a great program, different from the typical 2×2 cycler program that will likely not be around a year from now?
It seems to me that the “2 Who Get 2″ concept isn’t on trial here. I’d be hard-pressed to think of a duplicable, and simple concept then that.
The challenge for all of us, I think, is to apply that concept to a reputable company that is built for the long-term, with real products. If we can do that, and stay with that program to see the fruition of efforts, then that is a win-win for everyone.
There are plenty of great, reputable MLM companies out there to apply that “2 Who Get 2″ concept, so why do people go for the “here today, gone tomorrow programs”? I think it is because the nature of the comp plan allows large commissions to be made in a shorter period of time than the typical MLM. That’s attractive to any entrepreneur. But, as we have observed, these kind of companies seem to have no staying power, and usually have token products.
Like many of you, I’ve come to the conclusion that is is best to build with a solid company for the large term. While I am doing that, I am also looking to add another income stream that will allow me and my team to create strong, up front profits with solid products, and a company that is built to last. This combination of long-term residuals, and strong upfront cash flow with higher commission products seems to be an ideal combination.
Let’s stay the course and build some thriving organizations for the long-term in 2010!
Darby
2. January 2010 at 11:44 pm
Jeff,
In my eyes, you were loosing credibility because I kept getting all these ‘garbabe’ emails from you, advertising yet another get rich quick scheme. I am an independent associate with a reputable company already and stopped following all your emails. Why would I want to keep jumping around from one thing to another when I’m struggling to make what I already believe in ‘work’ for me. No - all those schemes you were promoting were not for me and never have been.
I’m thankful you finally got it - what might be for you isn’t for everyone else. It’s not all about you, its really about what you can do for others! PTL you finally got it!
2. January 2010 at 11:45 pm
Good evening Jeff! This is David C. I hope this finds you and your
family doing well. Lynne and I hope you and your family had a
very “Merry Christmas,” and we wish you “NOTHING” but G_R_E_A_T Success
in 2010**:) Now ref; the post!
I truly am glad to see that you have a good sense of business, honesty,
and most importantly Integrity and Leadership!
To be quite honest with you, I see-it time-after-time, How such-such
makes this etc., and I get ALL this E-Mail traffic that after checking
it out is nothing but J-U-N-K. I just DELETE - DELETE - DELETE!
I don’t ask for anything FREE, if it’s there, I’ll take a look at it
and if interested, I’ll promote it. It’s just that simple with me. Well
Jeff, again “Thank you” and God Bless!
Sincerely,
DAVID W. CROWLEY, Sr.

Man Darby you just NAILED it brother! That’s EXACTLY what I’m talking about…thanks for adding that!
2. January 2010 at 11:49 pm
Yes Annetta! I approved your comment because I want people to see that what I’m saying here is TRUE! Promoting this stuff really does hurt your credibility…the program owner could have the best of intentions, the program might be great (for some) and it all may be on the “up and up”, but honestly…I don’t EVER see long term success happening with a 2×2 matrix deal or ANYTHING like it! Anytime you have a ONE-TIME payout that leverages itself into bigger paydays…ouch look out. Thank you for your feedback Annetta and being honest with me. Oh 2010 is going to be so miraculous!

Glad too hear it i have been receiving your emails for a while now- one thing I notice about all marketeers-they all say the samething just in a different way- frankly I have gotten tired of the same tired sales pitch - just said n a different way. One thing I would like to see and it appears u r headed that way is customer service, no fake phone numbers, make good on a persons word. The Internet is similar to a brick & mortar business. If some of the practices where done in those businesses that r done on the net- especially from so called guru’s the business would not last. So it sounds to me that you and a couple of others I deal with are getting the picture that just because itcis the net-,people deserve honesty, respect, and be able to trust the people they r working with or trying to learn from- so I wish u the best.
3. January 2010 at 12:15 am
Hi Jeff, wow…have you just seen how many hits you just got all at once? it’s like a new powerfull form of reverse marketing called “honesty”. no seriously though, I want to thank you and it goes to show there are alot of us out here that are trying so hard and it’s like we are all in this continuous “holding pattern” hopeing some of our programs will please break through no matter what program or who we started it with.
Not to mention it being stressful until one of these programs takes off, because some of us do some crazy stuff with our paychecks from our day jobs outside of being responsible, to make things happen. But I would still do it again and take some risks because I still believe in entreprenuership.
Henry Ford must have taken risks left and right that he was quiet about and un-phased by, because he was driven to succeed.
I still have the dream of doing it all from home with checks in the mail. I have not been promoting my old cash gifting cause that too seems like the same feeling of the $777 thing. So for something different to me I know that clickbank is real so I will do some affiliate stuff, but I am planning on keeping an eye on you site because I know that you will be having some good programs to still sign up for. thanks Jeff, -Ray
3. January 2010 at 12:33 am
Jeff,
I applaud you in having the cojones to step up to the plate partner.
There are many would-be leaders in the Network Marketing & Direct Sales world who will lead their followers to the “next big deal” every 3-4 months basically just draining them of their cash without ever giving any real value.
These are the time wasters and the vampires of our industry. Because so many newbies are looking towards internet marketing every day to supplement their incomes there is no shortage to the supply of folks who will lose a ton of money in these “pyramid schemes”.
Sure you can try and argue the meaning of pyramid all you want but the bottom line is that if you are promoting a product or service which is not geared towards the long term stable growth of not only the company but also your downline then you can rest assured your building a pyramid.
As soon as there is a dip if the numbers of folks filling up the bottom of those ever widening matrixes the growth curve will grind to a halt and so will the checks being paid at the top.
The heavy hitters know this but count on their ability to “churn & burn” enough recruits into the system by flashing a wad of cash or showing a couple of pics of themselves in front of a large home to be able to generate large sums of upfront cash with no intention of being there for the long haul.
This is just one of the reasons anyone who is truly looking to establish themselves within the MLM Network Marketing arena should do their due diligence as it pertains not only to the company/product but even more so to who they are going to be joining with.
If your sponsor has been in 4 different deals over the last 4 months that person is probably not the best person to align yourself with.
On my blog I give an incredibly insightful review of the proper steps you need to take in evaluating who your next MLM Network Marketing Sponsor/Mentor will be.
I look forward to reading more quality content from you Jeff and wish you the most prosperous 2010 imaginable.
To Our Massive Success,

Jeff,
I have been reading your stuff for a while.
I too have joined those pie in the sky matrix opportunities and as soon as they had my money, the “upline support and spillover” disappeared like my money.
It took me a while to realize it is not what opportunity I am in, but what I can do for those that go into business with me. Providing training and value to your subscribers and downline is what being a leader is all about.
I hope that your eyes are open and that instead of jumping from opp to opp you find a real, stable company to align yourself with.
Keep providing that value and we will continue to follow you.
3. January 2010 at 12:40 am
Jeff,
I’ve had way too many people try to get me to join those programs. I personally think you should put your time and energy into services or products that will bring you true residual.
I’m glad you now see the light.
To a Prosperous 2010

Its your Uncle Jeff here. You make me proud to be part of your family! I too was wondering what was up with all the blank emails and new offers every other day.
I am glad to see you focusing on content and value, like what has worked for you in the past.
You know my finacial situation better than most, and I hope others can appreciate it when I say “Lead me in 2010″ and because of your integrity, I know I will be fine!

Jeff, You are a very good marketer. You are now at the point to start building your reputation. You know how to build your list and market to them. Way to go !!!

Hey Jeff…
Happy New Year to you and yours !!
I just finished a blog post and was going through my email when I got to your email. I was expecting another one of your “promotional” emails…to say the least I was surprised when I read this blog post…
I think your ears must have been ringing…because the blog post I wrote specifically talks about this type of stuff. It is what I have been talking about for almost a year now…because I fell for it…and got totally burned out…turned off…and BEcame determined to speak the truth about how much “HYPE HURTS” people…
You are a very skilled marketer…very talented developer…you have so much going for you…you NEVER need to drop down to the level of a program hopping spammy hypester…
YOU are a LEADER…share your gifts with everyone…BEcome a blessing for everyone out there…and you know that you will BE blessed by our Creator…
It is all about LOVING people enough to LEAD them to their POWER…to SPEAK their greatness INTO THEM … to treat them with respect and honor. To do unto them as you would have done unto you.
The world is desperate for GREAT LEADERS … I am glad that you are choosing to BE one of us !! The post you wrote is an example of LEADERSHIP…INTEGRITY…and a man who is not afraid to admit his mistakes. That takes courage my friend … and all leaders are courageous.
Wishing you GREAT success with all that you do !!
2010 is already an amazing year !!

Quote: Anytime you have a ONE-TIME payout that leverages itself into bigger paydays…ouch look out.
Well it’s been my experience that with monthly payment businesses
people drop out and quit paying faster than you can put new ones in! At least a one time payment structure gives your down line members the opportunity to get busy with it for longer than 30 days.
Jeff, solve these problems and you’ve got yourself a winner!
I b believe these to be the top 5 reasons people fail online:
1 - People sponsor shop. More sales/gifts are lost by sponsor shoppintg than anything else.
Here’s what happens:
Joe Shmo sends out an email.
The receiver searches Google for the program and runs across a dynamic speaker and/or team who sounds like he knows what he’s talking about.
Joe Schmo loses that sale! And the heavy hitter gets richer! Average people don’t work together! Actually they work against each other by joining the heavy hitters.
2 - Lack of marketing skills. If the truth be known: If your idea of good marketing is surf exchanges and safe-lists, you really need to learn internet marketing BEFORE you join any program/business.
3 - Lack of salesman personality…..you either have it or you don’t.
4 - Laziness. The “I only want to spend a couple of hours a week on my future” attitude.
5 - Lack of basic computer skills. Heck, I can’t count the number of people I’ve taught how to copy and paste!
So it’s really not about payment structures or monthly versus one time. It’s about the reasons I listed above.
But tis the season! I see it every winter…..the emergence of low cost monthly programs. Come about March or April (tax return time) and the momentum will go back to one time payment programs. That’s always been the cycle. But with the new economy….I’m not so sure any of this stuff will last much longer.
3. January 2010 at 1:36 am
Jeff, i’m sorry but i don’t understand what the difference is between THIS statement of yours >
“Literally about 2 or 3 hours ago I created a post here that was promoting another “money game” type deal. You know one of those 2×2 deals where you get 2 who get 2 and you make “X” dollars and then you’re re-entered into another matrix to make it happen again?”
And THIS one >
“THIS is a PERFECT example of WHY I am creating The Get 2 System! (http://www.Get2System.com)”
Would You be so kind as to ‘enlighten’ me?
Thanks, Dennis
3. January 2010 at 2:19 am
Dennis,
Thanks for asking this question. The Get 2 System I am developing is nothing like a “2×2 matrix” or anything of the sort. You see, most ALL network marketing/MLM type businesses THRIVE on the very SIMPLE concept of get 2 who get 2 who get 2 etc…that’s called DUPLICATION and LEVERAGE. My system is going to FOCUS on this aspect and help you in whatever program or business you are currently promoting or will promote in the future! It’s a service and a TOOL to help drive YOU AND OTHERS to success with whatever you’re currently doing. Hope this clears things up for ya
3. January 2010 at 2:25 am
Hi Jeff,
Hats off to you for bailing on that last “program”
Your Get2System shows your real genius for relationship and team building and promises to be a break through for all who will play a part. This is real leadership on your part. Congrats.
3. January 2010 at 2:28 am
Ditto with what Carlo stated above when he said “At the beginning when I started to follow joinjefflong.com I thought here is a genuine guy that I would like to Follow & Copy, but I was a let down.”
If I had known what the qualifications were going to be in pre-launch, of the opp. Jeff brought 100 members into, I would have never joined and promoted it. We didn’t know until much later. I tried to get the owner to change it to no avail. Now in good conscience I can’t promote it and I feel like I’ve let my referrals down. But I’m moving on.
I’m happy to see that Jeff who I respect as a very positive, sincere and honest person turned a major corner.
I’m looking forward to seeing how I can participate and use it to promote my business that has a limited membership since income is earned in a different method than from memberships and monthly purchases.
There is nothing more valuable than honest, great training and advertising to help us reach our goals. And we know Jeff knows his stuff. Looking forward to yours, Jeff!
I wish you all success for 2010.

I couldn’t agree more Jeff.
The Idea to support and help people who trust you is paramount in my book.
People need confidence in you and you have to build up respect for people to follow you.
Looking forward to see what is coming.

Nice to see the light bulb turned on for you Jeff.
That happened to me about 5 years ago and I was ready to shut off my computer and get my life back again.
Like others posting here, these programs are true money stealers and yes, you can (and will) lose credibility. Your name is worth more than these silly “quick money” programs that many people are desperate to join thinking they will make their life better.
I, thankfully, stumbled upon a company in 2005 with a great product I personally love and a company who genuinely cares about the people. While it takes time to build a long term business, the results are certainly worth it.
Nancy
P.S. One of my New Years resolutions was to start unsubscribing from so many lists I’ve joined from people offering “help” to grow your business. Most turned out to be promoting each other’s products or services or some silly quick money program. You came close to the delete key until I got your message this morning.
3. January 2010 at 3:50 am
Hi Jeff,
It is wonderful to meet you (…online) and I wish to commend you for your wonderful achievements. You are now on the Leaders’ plateau where people look up to you… It can also be a vulnerable place because of the anticipation and expectations of some of your followers… I am so looking forward to your ‘Get 2′ system. It sounds awesome.

Hello,
interesting reading. I am very sceptical about MLM and network marketing and I think that usually only the people at the top benefit from them.
I prefer to concentrate my promotions on serious tools, SEO, niche Affiliate Marketing.
Best Regards and best wishes for a Prosperous and Happy New Year

Hi Jeff
How about all those replies huh?
People will respond in mass to signs of real integrity. There is very little of that today in the online marketing world.
Should be an eye opener not only for you, but all of us as well.
3. January 2010 at 10:20 am
Jeff,
This is Ann, and I have been a customer of yours several times, beginning with ALS. I no longer promote that, nor do I promote anything that could fall within the definition of money games. I have become fairly adept at spotting them. I was feeling that your credibility with me was getting eroded, and that you were joining the ranks of marketers out there from whom I get an email every other day promoting something new. Glad to hear of your change of heart. I will definitley take a look at “Get2″.
3. January 2010 at 10:35 am
Hi Jeff,
yeap I am with others as well people will respond in masses when they see that integrity at present.
Michael.
3. January 2010 at 10:57 am
I am so sick of the CRAP on the NET.. There are daily programs coming out that offer you the world but in reality you get nothing for your bucks.. I am determined though to follow Jeff into 2010 with a Get 2 attitude!! lets kick some ASS People…
3. January 2010 at 11:02 am
Jeff,
I too have “fell” for those hype programs in the past. It’s been a long time since I have given in. I could probably rattle off a dozen that launched in 2009 and well are no longer around.
It’s about connecting with people–finding the right program that is fair and reputable and not all about making the guy at the top rich.
Great post and thanks for your honesty.
Holly
3. January 2010 at 11:27 am
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your post in your blog and I have to admit that I have fallen many times to the same old HYPE. I did join A program that I believe is rather ingenious and I believe it’s going to win for me but I would like your opinion on it. I won’t post it here because I don’t think that would be right but could you e-mail me so that I could send you my link for you to critique?? I’m already in your e-mail list.
Thank you

I have been there done that for year and have finally said that is enough. I purchased the Instant capture page and you had something that would made your millions. I believe in multiple incomes and we need to show others the same. I always had my eggs in one basket and had to start over and over. There is plenty of legitimate business out there that you don’t need to create another 2by2 system. We just need to show how to do it all in one place with large costs out of pocket. Unless it has a real service worth it weight in gold. Watch Frank Kerns State of Address. Let build a strong community of helping others.I was one that unsubscribed from your list cause of junk and what other marketers have done and deleted them to. We all need to turn them all off so you can focus. Nothing is easy. Jeff I like a guy that step up and speaks what is right for really helping others. My God Bless you this year and I get me back on the list.
3. January 2010 at 12:54 pm
Hi Jeff, I have been receiving emails from you for some time. I don’t remember how I came across you, but most of your emails I never even opened……….until last night. You really impressed me with your apparent honesty and integrity, so much so that I signed up for your pre-launch last night. Apparently, based on the amount of comments you also caught a lot of other peoples attention too. I am trusting that my instincts are right about you and I look forward to working with you.
My message to everyone is, try to use your instincts and you will be able to navigate your way thru this maze to truly benefit yourself.
Sincerely,

Hello Jeff from Quebec Canada
Seasons greetings to you and your family
I love your posts and you are absolutely reaching my thoughts on this one.
I’ve been online for a little over a year now and there are so many different opportunities that you can join that it’s overwhelming and mind boggling.
The problem I see with networking businesses today is that even though they all claim that there system is easily duplicable, they’re not,WHY? because 90% of people that join, have no marketing skills,no list to market to, and the most important is no coaching and guidelines to follow. So besides the leader that makes mass CASH with a few that put ACTION,the rest will make NADA.
So to build a long lasting sustainable business,I believe that you need a system that:
1)builds your own personal list and build relationship to that list.
2)that creates ongoing cash flow
3)that coaches anyone and everyone who joins your primary business to be truly duplicable with the right marketing strategies, technics and tools on complete autopilot.
4)That creates true RETENTION that all these businesses need for long lasting recurring income.
This is what I believe is the true VALUE of a system. It as to create true WEALTH for new distributors that will join my primary business.
I am looking forward on how the GET2SYSTEM will work and if it will follow the points I have posted above.
It’s not all about just making money but to build true and honest relationship with people. That’s the real wealth of a business.
You have put up a great post and i appreciate the honesty of it.
I wish 2010 to be a successful one for all that read this post.

Hi Jeff,
Way to go on ‘coming clean’ about that last program.
In my dozen or so years online I have seen them all,
been in most of them and have pretty much gotten fed
up with the internet as a whole.
I don’t do ‘biz opps’ anymore and created my own service
to help people and I feel much better about myself and
the work I do now than I ever did promoting a biz opp.
Your strength is building systems and I love those that
you have come up with in the past and I look forward to
seeing your Get2 system.
I know you can help me in the future with my own marketing
and I appreciate your honesty.
Have a very prosperous New Year Jeff!
Greg
3. January 2010 at 1:11 pm
God for you Jeff to write about this topic.
I attempt to speak to those who are newbies and those who have and are trying to make money online every time I post or comment and today is no different.
We have 97 million folks coming online monthly ,along with the 95% who don’t yet make$. That’s a really really huge market to help.
We are in the niche of people looking for a simple way to MAKE$ from home and learn marketing.
I stopped being a “grasshopper on steroids”…jumping from program to program about 2 + years ago.
I decided to focus on the concept of “YOU,INC.”
I bought and studied and implemented for most of 08 and 09..set up my first blog a few months into 09….practised with setting up my 1st open source word press blog.. continued to learn about blogging …joined BlogSuccess to become a pro blogger and now have just set up my new ATTRACTION MARKETING BLOG.
While doing that process I’ve found the permanent business model for me and others to build. This is an online or OFFLINE program that teaches step by step for any level of marketer. Offline model works really well and it’s for those who don’t have time for a learning curve. So learn and earn at the same time.
I am NOT a fan of the concept you describe above. You’ve described why in that process hurts all newbies who get sucked in to following some “guru” ( a term I don’t like) into a matrix spillover or “don’t do anything ,I’ll build your business for you or get this super duper lead program and blast (spam) to 2 million emails and….blah..blah blah.
Stop jumping and start learning marketing! Get into the daily process folks. It’s a process just like anything worth while is a process of repetition and continuing to practise your skills.
It is not as hard as you think but you may need to simply have HONEST DIRECTION.
Listen I was an athlete. Hockey here in Canada is huge and very good.
No one said to me hey Nicholas …don’t worry about practising your skills of skating, shooting, passing, body checking, skating backwards ..etc…I’ll do it for you and you’ll still make the team.
Sounds really ridiculous but that’s what folks buy into with online business opportunities.
Sorry you’ll have to put forth effort folks, but there is a way to shorten your learning curve.
So your question is very relevant Jeff.
“is what I’m doing and promoting going to be able to not only pay me and my team members for years to come but provide enough VALUE with the PRODUCT or service that EVEN if I or my team members didn’t make money selling it, I and they would still stick to it because of the VALUE of the on going product or service?
Yes that does exist along with learning to scale up in to more incomes but again that is a process that can be learned.
It’s not about the new “flavour of the day” but as you say PROVIDING VALUE to those searching for it.
Thanks for being honest Jeff and have a happy new year !
3. January 2010 at 2:17 pm
You have my attention, because you are now thinking like I’ve been thinking for years now. I’m warning you it’s not as profitable to take everyone with you, but it’s more rewarding to your emotions and over all feeling of ‘Better Quality of Life’. My mission is to “Build Better for the People of the World”. To educate the public isn’t so hard, just costly, to then, after 9 years of trying, not be able to find one builder that wants to take the effort to market the New Homes they build as costing the homeowner LESS when they consider the FULL cost of living in a home; Mortgage plus Electric. Do you think your Get2 System can be set up to help me help “Build Better for the People of the World as described in AllWallSystem.com?”
3. January 2010 at 5:59 pm
Years and years ago, I learned about Quality from Phil Crosby’s Quality College, and the orientation is around “continual and constant improvement of product and service” instead of focusing on market share and the bottom line. Secondly, what we’ve all should have been learning this year through the Wall Street-manufactured “Great Recession” and the green “revolution” is to focus secondarily on sustainability, not pur profit; “Greed is good” be damned (pardon my french).
You’re absolutely right; we should be focusing on sustainability, not short-term, morally questionable “Yo2×2 deals where you get 2 who get 2 and you make “X” dollars and then you’re re-entered into another matrix to make it happen again?”
Good luck, and let’s get MOVING!!
3. January 2010 at 6:13 pm
When did you get in my head? OMG! This is EXACTLY what I’ve been sayin too!
I’m tired of company hoppers and false promises and THE NEXT BIG THING!
I’m ready for some real stability, so I’m starting my own company and it WON’T be network marketing!
3. January 2010 at 7:51 pm
Hi Jeff,
I read with total interest - your totally honest but truthful words on “get rich schemes”, as I too, have been ’sucked’ in and fallen for a few myself. If fact..have been doing very little in this area at all lately..I have been that disappointed.
I see myself as not only an intelligent women but more Importantly..an HONEST ONE! and not only do these programs serve to make tons of money fast..the problem is it is also at the ‘expense’ of one’s reputation!!
I look forward to hearing more of your wise words! Thanks for an interesting read!
Warm, kind regards

Hello Jeff, First I would like to wish you and your family a wonderful 2010, may you all be blessed, may you find Peace, Love, Happiness and Prosperity in all areas of your lives.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and admitting that you did fall for these biz opps as well and that you no longer were going to put your name on one of those. It is so important to build a trusting relationship with our customers. I almost joined one of them because I knew and trusted you, so thanks for being honest and in the open about it.
I’m really looking forward to see what your Get2System will offer, don’t know if it will fit what I am looking for, but I do hope so. I have joined one great MLM company lately which delivers awesome products and services and I’m already using some of the best internet marketing tools, but I am still stuck, I still have missing pieces to the puzzle. So I am really looking for a mentoring and funneling system which will allow me to promote my own businesses and products, use my own tools and not force me to join other biz opps or to buy the tools that the system uses, like Aweber or GetResponse, like so many out there.
Any idea when it will be ready?
Thanks again and much Success to you in 2010.
Lynn

Hey Jeff,
Little late to the reply party but it is great to hear you are not going
to put your name and reputation on the line for a fast buck at the
expense of your list/members.
There is a great demand on the Internet for honest and reliable individuals who will actually help others and educate them without
trying to keep selling them the flavor of the week.
The test of any good program is ‘does it consistently increase in it’s
value to me, (in knowledge and monetarily).. AND are there measurable results..’
Here’s looking to move forward in 2010…
4. January 2010 at 4:27 pm
you are right….some of us who know how to build a downline, always wonder will it last after you put in who know what of money just to be told the top man took the money or it did not work, ted turner’s son did the same thing with lci and when they say the ground floor what level, because there is a bottom to every floor no matter how high and U have that one that want to be first what a system
5. January 2010 at 12:11 am
Just wanted to say Thanks, it is a brave thing to announce to everyone that a lot of the deals you where promoting where for self riches ( if any ), so Thank-You. Now I will be more inclined to read your emails and see what you have to say.
I’ve been burned way to many times and am just not at all interested in simply working for my money only to line the pockets of someone I hardly know or do not know at all.
Something real and something that actually Helps everyone, like people helping each other is the way to go.
With Regards,
Karin

Hi Jeff,
I’m one of those that questioned the reason why you promoted another programme so quickly (less than two weeks.)
But feel much more confident with the fact that you had a rethink and are now determined to look for something very much more substancial and with long term profitability.
It will be interesting to see what you have come up with.

Nice Letter Jeff. I didn’t fall for that email you sent out, but quite frankly I wasn’t going to pay any attention to your emails after that one… except, I thought maybe you’d have a change of heart which you did. Funny how intuition is. Thank you for this letter. I look forward to keeping in touch with you.

I like Debra’s comment.
Debra Says:

“Jeff?
I’m so happy to see you getting the big picture. I have been in work where I feel that others come first, when I see others benefit, that is the real reward (there is more happiness in giving then in receiving)”
I like Debra’s comment, because I am also engaged in such a “never to be repeated work.”

Jeff,
I started a sort of a self imposed “Internet Marketing 101″ around the end of July 2009.
I was forced into seaching out someway to support my family and take control of my finacial future because of a bad back and the devastating effects the economy had on the only way I’ve know to make a living for over 35 yrs.
That’s a pretty scary position that I’m sure 100s of 1,000s have been faced with as well over the last yr. or so.
I’ve owned a couple of small welding businesses over the years, but this is a whole new industry with a giant learning curve for a green horn like me.
I’ve devoted (no joke) 10 to 16 hrs. a day, nearly every day, for the last 4 months studying, and I’ve looked real close at the top programs & performers. I’ve joined a few and quit a few. I’ve spent alittle and made alittle.
After 56 yrs. of life, you’re bound to learn something, even by accident. I like to think I’m a pretty good judge of character and a cautious man, especially when it comes to money.
Long story short (no pun intended), I’ve been observing you for a while and was about to get on board with one of your programs, when all of a sudden I saw some things you where getting into and promoting that turned me off.
I’m predicting that for some of us the future of this industry will be beyond our imaginations and the financial salvation and security for a great number of people.
We need people with the insite and the experience of men like you for leadership.
Your honesty and openest are commendable. Now let’s see what you got!!
I wish good fortune to us all in this coming year.
For those who will share for the benefit of others, and for those who would take advantage of others in these trying times; I can only say,
” What goes around comes around.”
May we all prosper.
God Bless,
Mitch

Building something legit by providing added value to people is the only way to stay in the game for the long haul like we do.
Thanks for speaking out.

Hi - thanks for what you said here - very good!
